The B2net Stadium - The new home of Chesterfield FC 7th July 2010 handed over
The wait was over, the day that noone in Chesterfield thought would arrive. Remember the date 7th July 2010 was the day Chesterfield FC got the keys to the brand new 13 million purpose built state of the art stadium.
For the 2010-11 season, Chesterfield FC will be taking up residency at their new 10,500 capacity, all-seater B2net Stadium in Whittington Moor, on the site of the former Dema Glassworks. Designed by architects Ward McHugh Associates of Sheffield, the £13 million stadium will replace the Saltergate Recreation Ground, which had been Chesterfield’s home ground since 1884.
The B2net stadium comprises 4 stands. The Main Stand at the western side of the ground is sponsored by HTM Products (Derbyshire) Ltd. and will be known as the HTM Stand. This stand includes conference / banqueting rooms, one of which bears the name, “Leengate” Legends Lounge. The club have secured a lucrative, 5-year deal with Leengate Valves for sponsorship of the Legends lounge at the B2net, together with continued first team sponsorship.
National Lottery winner, Karen Child, who has sponsored the Spireites Kop at Saltergate for the last two seasons, has now signed a long-term deal to sponsor the South Stand for home supporters at the B2net Stadium, to be known as the “Karen Child” Stand. According to the Chesterfield FC website, she said, “I have thoroughly enjoyed my period of sponsorship at Saltergate so had no hesitation in wanting to continue the connection with my local football club at the new B2net Stadium.”
The East “Community” Stand, sponsored by Midlands Co-operative, includes a multi-purpose sports room, injury clinic, gymnasium, rehabilitation wave pool, classroom resource centre for local education, a soft play area and a cafeteria. The official opening fixture was a friendly against local rivals Derby County on 24th July 2010.

Saltergate - The last ever match
It was the 8th May 2010 and the game was Chesterfield v Bournmouth. The time had arived to say good bye to saltergate for good. Chesterfield did not start the game very good, one nil down at half time and my thoughts were we cant go out this way, this cant happen. With only 20 minuites left Jack lester hit the back of the kop net to make it 1-1.
With only 30 seconds of the game remaining Niven hits a bueaty and sends the Chesterfield fans in to delight and Saltergate got the send off it deserved.

Chesterfield v Middlesborough (FA CUP SEMI FINAL 1997)
Chesterfield 3-3 Middlesbrough, Old Trafford, 1997Chesterfield were on the verge of completing one of the greatest runs in FA Cup history. The third division side were 2-0 up against Bryan Robson's Middlesbrough before Fabrizio Ravanelli and Craig Hignett hit back. In the end Chesterfield needed a last-minute extra time equaliser to force a replay but the tie was controversial. Referee David Elleray ruled out a perfectly good goal from Jonathan Howard that could have seen the underdogs reach the final. With Chesterfield leading 2-1, the ball clearly crossed the line after crashing off the under side of the bar - but nothing was given. In the replay, Middlesbrough won 3-0 to bring the fairytale to an end.
